The shorter daylight hours and feeble sunlight of wintertime can sometimes make us feel a bit gloomy and dreary, but with a few sheets of cardstock and some flameless candles, that can all change. Rustle up a few of these paper cake lanterns and you’ll have a cozy and inviting space in no time!

What you’ll need:

Demetres' Paper Lantern House DIY

  • Coloured cardstock
  • Tiny fairy lights (battery operated) or flameless candles*
  • Xacto blade or scissors
  • Gluestick
  • Our house lantern template

*Do not attempt this with real lit candles… paper + fire = not a nice ending 😱

There’s only one step:Demetres' Paper Lantern House DIY

Print out our house lantern template onto a sheet of coloured cardstock, and cut out all the shapes along the solid lines. Then fold along the dotted lines and glue together. The chimney can be inserted through the square hole in the lid and the smoke glued into the chimney.

Then pop it over some fairy lights…

…And nestle it wherever you need a little extra warm light ❤️
