Next time you’re craving a Cinnamon Roll, get yourself a mug and try out this super quick and delicious Cinnamon Bun Mug Cake. Not to brag, but it’s to-die for.



6 Tbsp flour
½ tsp baking powder
3 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp milk
½ egg, beaten (or 2 Tbsp liquid egg)
1 Tbsp butter, melted
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of salt

Cinnamon Swirl:
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp flour

Cream Cheese Drizzle:
1 Tbsp cream cheese, microwaved for 15 seconds
1 Tbsp icing sugar
¼ tsp vanilla extract


 Cream Cheese Drizzle

Stir all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth and set aside

Cinnamon Swirl

Stir together all ingredients in a separate bowl until smooth


Mix all ingredients in a large mug until smooth. Ensure there is at least an inch of space above the batter to allow the cake to expand during baking.

Spoon dollops of the swirl mixture on top of the cake mixture and stir in with a spoon to create a cinnamon swirl. Be careful not to overmix.

Microwave mug on HIGH for about 1 ½ mins – cake will be spongy to touch.

Remove from microwave and top with drizzle. Enjoy!


Note: It is advisable to use a mug that holds at least 14 fl oz (or two smaller mugs)
