We’re getting figgy with it for today’s recipe (and we’re not talking about figgy pudding.) Presenting chocolate dipped + decorated figs for the holidays! A perfect (healthier-ish) dessert for your party guests, or even a Christmas present for that food connoisseur friend.
10 -12 Fresh figs
1 ¼ – ½ c (7.5 – 9 oz) dark chocolate or semi sweet chocolate, chopped
- Milk chocolate/white chocolate
- Fresh rosemary, chopped
- Sea salt
- Chopped nuts
- Crystallized ginger, chopped
Wash and thoroughly dry figs. Make sure they are at room temperature. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper to put the figs on once they are dipped. Using a double broiler, melt the chocolate.
Dip each fig into the chocolate and try to let the excess drip off as much as possible.
Sprinkle with desired toppings and place the fig on the tray to cool.
Once complete, let the chocolate cool; you can speed this up by placing the fig in the fridge for 30 minutes. DO NOT leave them in there for a long period of time; this will cause condensation which will leave water marks on the chocolate.
Figs are best eaten within a day or two.
